1/16/2024 0 Comments Production hub b reviewMost products can be quickly and easily imitated and the most automated design and production processes cannot decisively beat the second most automated. Lower costs, higher quality, and greater product variety are like table stakes in poker-the price that companies pay to enter the game. Of course, any competitor can build one too-which is why it is becoming harder and harder to compete on manufacturing excellence alone. That is the factory of the present, which, with money and brains, any manufacturing business can build. That network has printed money for me since day 1 and that network is the reason I was able to make it through the pandemic and explode my business to even greater heights. The factory of the future is not a place where computers, robots, and flexible machines do the drudge work. My true golden goose of my business is my existing network that I've built through joining a local BNI chapter, being an active member in the local chamber of commerce, volunteering time with non-profits and organizations, showing up to networking events (virtual or in person) etc. I wouldn't be making over six figures a year now if I was relying on websites to find clients. The more you can grow your interpersonal and sales skills, the closer you'll get to earning a living wage that not only meets your minimum but exceeds it. As a business owner who has been in the video production world for over 10 years now I can say the best way to get work is to grow your network and who you know. They're more often than not a waste of time, low paying and the neediest clients. They're uneducated and are simply googling for things like 'Hire a Video Editor" so they pick what comes up and post. People that post on websites like this are typically those that don't already have a built in network of people or pool of contractors to reach out to. Most websites with job listings like this whether it be ProductionHub or Thumbtack etc. No abusive, harassing, offensive or spam submissions or comments. Low effort, vague, and overly broad questions/posts will be removed. Questions such as “How do I get started”, “How do I find clients”, and “I got my first gig, looking for general advice.” are better suited for a subreddit like /r/Videography and will be removed from /r/VideoProfessionals Since this subreddit is a place for people already working professionally in video, “Getting Started” posts will not be allowed. If you link to a product, link to the product’s standard page. Links such as, “What do you think of my travel video?” or “Check our these top 3 tips for low budget vlogs!” will be removed. Posts containing links will not be allowed unless they include a specific question such as, “Saw this on set today, what does it do?” or “What is causing this white artifact in my footage?” Great resource for people working in corporate, branded, event, internal communications, marketing, training, commercial, or otherwise paid video production. r/VideoProfessionals is aimed at creating a community for professionals who make their living in the video business to discuss issues relevant to the business and ask questions. Video production as a means of income discussion and questions.
